This company is a very special company to me. I had not driven for this company since April 1st,2008,andy fiance went down early this past January fore to buy another jacket( coat) from them ,and the safety director came out and shook my hand ,and asked me are you ready to go back to work for me. Tell me that there's no jobs, well excuse me but all a person needs is a class A drivers license with a haz/ mat endorsement and they have a job, but only if they have a clean police ,and driving record
Good company. Good dispatch . And great miles if you want them. But there trucks need attention that there mechanics don't give, nor will they send you to kw to fix it. You usually have to limp it back to Troy. Other than losing money due to break downs very good company.
I've been driving for Sanders for over a year now and overall I've had a great experience. I came in with some experience so I didn't go through a full 10 weeks of training. I've been able to advance very quickly and just leased my own truck with the company March 2016. There are no hidden costs like you hear about with some companies, people get to know who you are pretty quickly (that can be good or bad) and I don't ever feel like a truck number, not even when I was driving a company rig. The company trucks are well maintained and they recently updated much of the fleet and have been phasing out all the old equipment including the trailers.
It's not hard to get a job with this company,that's for sure
There are a couple departments that could use some restructuring, but the primary people I deal with on a daily basis are like a work family and focus very hard on helping me keep my career on track. I'm looking forward to another great year at Wiley Sanders and plan to lease on a couple more trucks by spring 2017.
Update: I did enjoy my time at Wiley Sanders as a company driver but the moment I leased a truck with them I started losing money. I've been with Landstar for a little less than a year now and I'm realizing my goal of 3 trucks on the road next week.
Great place to work. Home on the weekends for the most part.
There's a comprehensive safety program with excellent training for defensive driving and HazMat and a decent bonus structure. I'm about two weeks away from 4 perfect quarters and an annual safety bonus.
