Friendly, helpful employees, but had trouble using my Lowe's gift card. Card reader malfunction. Had to switch to another check out and hold up the line!
3 June episode-in the middle of our current fiasco (too many to list concerning Troy Lowe's thru the years since they opened up in Troy) with Lowe's of getting our master bathroom remodeled, my wife and I went to the flooring section to buy carpet for our house, (we were doing our master bedroom next, and working from there throughout the house)-when the individual saw us looking at carpet samples and matching them to our paint we had in cart, he fled for his life. After waiting 21 minutes for someone to appear , I tried the attn button at their desk-did not work. Another individual was taking inventory right across from us and we could see he was watching us from where he was at. Meanwhile, another individual came up to the flooring desk and my wife asked if he could help us since we were buying carpet for the house-he gave us the Walmart "not my department" answer, pointed to the guy with the inventory gun and said he worked this dept, then he too disappeared. I turned to see the inventory guy haul butt down the aisle the opposite direction to also disappear. So, I called the store from my cellphone, and when the woman answered and I informed her we were IN the store trying to buy carpet for our house, she announced over the PA system that customer needed assistance in flooring-after 20 more minutes of waiting and looking at carpet samples, we left approx $250 in items in cart and exited store. And we now have our carpet installed by Town and Country Flooring in Troy, who did an outstanding job and they also really appreciate the business. The contract company that did the remodel was for the most part very disorganized no unreliable. With the exception of only a couple of the contractors, it was a "goat rope" from the start. From the first tiler, who turned out to be a total idiot (he lost his job with them after another no-show)-alot of his work in our shower had to be fixed by others who came from the Dothan area) to the Lowe's employees themselves who ignored texts and phone calls, only to just happen to call out of the blue (because they did get my texts and calls, but never replied directly). I at one point had to file a complaint with corporate office after not hearing from ANYONE-and then, low and behold-everyone called me (including store mgr. who never did a follow up afterwards) except the owner of the contract company, WHO CAME AND DID THE MEASUREMENTS ON THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE AND GAVE ME HIS NUMBER TO CONTACT HIM WITH ANY QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, ETC-but never replied. In case anyone is interested-I have been informed the the contracts are going away from local Lowe's, and all is getting dished out thru corporate office as of now (or very soon anyway), hopefully the contract company we had will not continue with Lowe's-they were never on the same page.
Another earlier incident-on 27 May we were in the garden dept to get some things along with what we were buying in main area. A woman and her daughter approached us to ask if we knew anything about fence posts etc because she was trying to find the correct fencing and posts for a 4H project her daughter was doing (raising chickens). The woman said she had asked a few employees about the posts (she had wrong length and we informed her as to what we had used in the past)-she said the employees fled the scene, one even telling her he would be right back after he asked someone else about her questions. AFTER he was gone for 30 minutes, she knew he would not be back, so that's why she asked a fellow customer. If her incident had happened after we had gone thru the mess with Lowe's that was just starting to pile up-my response would of been to tell her she's better off going to a competitor somewhere else, because this store's employees could care less.
Normally customer service is horrible here, but today a guy went out of his way to help me. Otherwise I'd give it 3
Very helpful. The guy in plumbing was very knowledgable.
I want to thank, Jarvis Morgan he was very helpful, patience, and knowledgeable. My visit was good, got info. I needed to make a decision.
