My husband and I recently received a mortgage from Troy Bank. Mid-way through the process, our mortgage broker stopped returning our calls; this went on for almost two weeks. By the time he started answering his phone and email messages again, it was almost time to close on the house, but he hadn't gotten an appraisal done yet. The appraisal came back low, necessitating a second appraisal, and the broker had not allowed enough time to get this done before closing. We ended up closing a week late on the house and were scrambling for a place to live since we had sold our other house and committed to getting out of it on a certain date based on when we expected to close on the house in Troy. Little was communicated to us even during what amounted to an emergency for our family, and no real apologies were made. We will not bank with Troy Bank anymore, and we hope they sell our mortgage.
